Aunt Sissy Verse

Out of Harm’s Way  (on my blog); Out of Harm’s Way (on my lj)
On AO3: Out of Harm's Way
Pairing: None
Rating: Gen/G
Wordcount: 14,616
Summary:  Ramona Blessing meets up with the Winchester boys and becomes someone new in the process.
Author’s Notes: Oh man, this story was so much fun, and just seemed to come all of a peice. I had thought I would be writing stories about the boys as they are in the show, but after seeing Something Wicked about 20 times, I could not resist the whole idea of writing about the Weecheseters.

Safe From Harm (on my blog); Safe From Harm (on my lj)
On AO3: Safe From Harm
Pairing: None
Rating: Gen/G
Word Count: 8,775
Author’s Notes:  This is a second story in the Aunt Sissy Universe. It’s not a sequel to the first one, Out of Harm’s Way, but more a companion peice that takes place a few years later. I enjoyed the first one so much, I was loathe to let Aunt Sissy go by the wayside. The characters of Dean and Sam, as well, wanted to spend more time with her, and who am I to resist the will of a Weechester? Here tis then. Enjoy!

In Harm’s Wake (on my blog); In Harm’s Wake (on my lj)
On AO3: In Harm's Wake
Pairing: None
Rating: Gen/G
Word Count: 13,151
Author’s Notes: This is a third story in the Aunt Sissy Universe. It’s not a sequel to the other two, Out of Harm’s Way, or Safe From Harm, but more a companion piece that takes place a few years after both stories. Sam wanted to have his own story about her, and who am I to resist such a cute little face?

Dark Shadows

Title: My Boy Willie
On AO3: My Boy Willie
Rating: Het/PG17
Word Count:  89,310
Summary: When Willie arrived at Collinwood, with his best pal Jason McGuire, he had no idea what he was getting into, or that his hunt for jewels would instead lead him to a vampire's grave. Barnabas Collins has no love lost for the graverobber, even if Willie did free him. Badness ensues. This is the story of Barnabas' release from the coffin and his first few months at Collinwood, as seen by the man who released him into the 20th century, Willie Loomis.

Lilac Verse

Title: Lilacs in Bloom
On AO3: Lilacs in Bloom
Author: Sylvia Bond
Genre/Rating: Het/PG-17
Verse: Lilacs Verse
Pairing: Willie/Victoria
Word Count: 10,257
Summary: On a fine spring day, Willie takes time out of his busy day to tend to a lilac tree. By chance, he is able to give the fresh petals to Victoria Winters who is, at the time, being vigorously courted by Willie’s boss, Barnabas Collins. Barn finds out and the bad things happen. The sequel is Stopping by Woods.

Title: Stopping by Woods
On AO3: Stopping By Woods
Author:
Sylvia Bond
Genre/Rating: Het/PG-17
Pairing: Willie/Victoria
Verse: Lilacs
Word Count: 27,326Summary: In this sequel to Lilacs in Bloom, Victoria contemplates Barnabas’ courtship of her and is shocked when he tells her that Willie is carrying a torch for her. He warns her to be careful, at which point she becomes rather more aware of Willie than she should. And then bad things happen.

Gina Lee Verse

The following is a list of my Dark Shadows fanfiction stories in a series about Willie Loomis and his friend Gina Lee Logan. The list also includes fanfiction by N.J. Nidiffer.

Deep Water by N.J. Nidiffer
On AO3: Deep Water
On DW: Deep Water
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 3,354
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 1)
Summary: Willie picks up a local village woman and her kids after their car breaks down in a storm. And, of course, seeing as this is a story about Willie, bad things happen after that.
A/N: My friend Nik wrote this story, and I thought it was a very good story, so much so that I was inspired to write a sequel of sorts, called Tree, where more bad things happen.

Tree by Sylvia Bond
On AO3: Tree
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 11,210
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 2)
Summary: Willie’s doing his best at the Old House, but he accidentally cuts down the tree that Josette planted many, many years ago. Barnabas, of course, punishes him, and then demands that he get rid of the wood. Willie, for some reason, decides that it would be a good idea to give the wood to the widow, Gina Lee Logan, as well as Sam Evans, to keep them warm through the winter.
A/N: It was Nik who said she wanted a development of a snippet of a scene from another story, where Willie references the time Barn locked him in the cellar, in the dark. She wanted to know why Barn would do that. Well, cutting down that damned tree is why, of course!

Gina Lee by N.J. Nidiffer
On AO3: Gina Lee
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 7,455
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 3)
Summary: Willie once helped out Gina Lee, now she wants to invite him home to lunch to repay him. But even that simple act is fraught with problems.
A/N: By this time, the Gina Lee verse was up and running, taking on a life of its own. When she wrote this installment, Nik admitted to me that she was leaving threads and breadcrumbs strewn about on the hopes that I would pick one of them up and make a story about it. Of course I did, because I was as much in love with these characters as she was.

Giving Thanks by Sylvia Bond
On AO3: Giving Thanks
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count:  18,182
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 4)
Summary: It is Thanksgiving time, and Gina Lee, who has extra pies in her kitchen, brings one to Willie at the Old House. Entertaining guests is not within servant’s rights, so Barnabas pitches a fit and then punishes Willie. Only trouble is, now Willie needs to return the pie pan, which he does, and then it gets worse from there.
A/N: I had to call my brother in law to find out what they used to call Thanksgiving back in Barnabas’ day, and of course he knew, because he’s totally cool like that. As for Barnabas, he never could appreciate a nice Pilgrim hat.

Trial by Fire by N.J. Nidiffer
On AO3: Trial By Fire
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count:  7,243
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 5)
Summary: Willie has struck a bargain with Barnabas in which Barnabas will let Gina Lee and her babies live only if Willie behaves himself 100% for the rest of his life. Since Willie wasn’t born into bonded servitude, he has a hard time struggling under the yoke or staying away from Gina Lee.
A/N: There’s a friendship growing between Willie and Gina Lee that’s so strong, neither Nik nor I were able to resist writing about it.

Winter’s Gift by Sylvia Bond
On AO3: Winter's Gift
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count:  22,823
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 6)
Summary:  It’s Christmas time, and Gina is determined to keep her friendship with Willie, even if he’s doing his best to avoid her. But then, her house burns down, and Willie is sure that Barnabas is responsible. He’s no longer on his very best behavior and rebels, not knowing that Gina did not die in the fire. Gina, for her part, comes up to the Old House and stirs up the pot a little when she realizes that Barnabas was not responsible for her having wood to warm her through the winter.
A/N: Gina turned into our little wolverine in this story, and she can’t stand that Barnabas Collins, which made it even more fun.

The Long Way Down by N.J. Nidiffer
On AO3: The Long Way Down
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 16,300
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse:
Gina Lee (# 7)
Summary:
Even when Willie is doing his best to be obedient, everything goes wrong when he falls off a ladder for real collapses in the grocery store. It gets even worse when Gina Lee is the one to discover him and call for an ambulance. Barnabas is non too pleased, Gina Lee is sure Barnabas is being cruel and stingy about the whole thing, and Willie just wants his headache to go away.
A/N:
Part of the problem is that Nik and I felt what Polly and Danny and Gina Lee felt in that we couldn’t get enough of the boy, and we ended up torturing him beyond all reason.

Concussion by Sylvia Bond
On AO3: Concussion
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 12,922
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee # 8
Summary: Willie’s concussion becomes very apparent when he snaps at the kids and can’t remember what Barnabas has told him to do. Even Gina Lee can’t make him slow down; it’s up to Barnabas, who brings out an old-fashioned remedy that actually works better than the prescription the doctor gave him.
A/N: Willie should get some rest, that’s all I have to say about it.

The Pencil Box by N.J. Nidiffer
On AO3: The Pencil Box
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 13,909
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 9)
Summary: There’s nothing Willie’s more afraid of than the dark, yet that’s where he must go in order to get through his chores so he can earn the money to buy Polly Logan a present. He’s been invited to her birthday party, you see, and come hell or high water, Willie is determined to be there.
A/N: This story was actually written after Polly, because Nik wanted to figure out how and where Willie acquired the gift wrapped in that old, blue paper.

Polly by Sylvia Bond
On AO3: Polly
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 8,287
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 10)
Summary: Polly has a birthday party, and though Willie’s gift to her seems dopey at first, it turns out to be her favorite: drawing pencils. She draws him a picture and then takes it upon herself to deliver the drawing to the Old House in person. Barnabas comes upon the two of them, and Polly knows right away that he’s the mean, mean boss because he won’t admire the new scratch on her knee. Willie takes her home and is in plenty of trouble for having uninvited guests.
A/N: Oh, my god this kid gets herself into almost as much trouble as Willie does!

A Perilous Guard by Sylvia Bond
On AO3: A Perilous Guard
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 8,483
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 11)
Summary: In this parallel story to Polly, Willie must deal with the repercussions of having an uninvited visitor to the Old House. And it doesn’t matter that she’s only seven years old and didn’t mean any harm, Willie will go to the ends of the earth to protect her.
A/N: I couldn’t resist telling Polly’s story from Willie’s POV.

Small Treasures by N.J. Nidiffer
On AO3: Small Treasures
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 4,062
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 12)
Summary: Barnabas contemplates Polly Logan, who is nothing like his dead sister Sarah. Yet, at the same time, she seems to inspire the same sort of affection from Willie that Barnabas had for his sister.
A/N: Nik took the Polly story and did Barn’s version of it. Barn hates everything, but he has a hard time hating Polly, much as he’d like to.

Last Word by N.J. Nidiffer
On AO3: Last Word
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count:  13,041
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 13)
Summary: Gina Lee determines that the best thing for her family is if they all move out to California. Willie is devastated. Barnabas is predictably less than sympathetic.
A/N: This is probably one of the saddest stories in the whole bunch.

To Feed on Rose Petals by Sylvia Bond
On AO3: To Feed on Rose Petals
Word Count:  7,673
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 14)
Summary: Unbeknownst to Barnabas, his servant Willie has been receiving letters from his pen pal in California. Trouble is, Willie’s not been answering those letters, and it’s going to look like Barnabas can’t control his servant. So he makes Willie sit down and write something.
A/N: Barn always has to be in control! (And secretly, this is one of my favorite stories of this verse.)

Counting Costs by N.J. Nidiffer
On AO3: Counting Costs
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 3,117
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 15)
Summary: Willie receives a terrible phone call from Gina Lee. Polly’s been hurt, is in the hospital, and might die. He’s promises Gina that he’ll be there as soon as he can, even though there’s no way he can do this.
A/N: I was in tears the first time I read this.

Love’s Embrace by Sylvia Bond
On AO3: Love's Embrace
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 9,235
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 16)
Summary: Willie has to ask for permission to go out to California to visit the Logan family. He manages it, yes, but at some great cost.
A/N: This is my other favorite because it was interesting to set things up so that Barn would have to let Willie go.

Connections by N.J. Nidiffer
On AO3: Connections
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 13,010
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 17)
Summary: Willie travels to California by plane, and arrives to find the Logan family in pieces. He’s there to put them back together again, though he can barely stand himself.
A/N: Poor Willie!

Home Among the Dead by Sylvia Bond
On AO3: Home Among The Dead
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 22,262
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 18)
Summary: Willie visits the Logan family in California and does his best to take care of them. Unfortunately, he’s only got a week, because Barnabas is expecting him back. Gina doesn’t want him to go and Willie doesn’t want to leave her. But with Barnabas’ threats hanging over his head, each day brings him closer to the ultimate parting.
A/N: Barnabas deserves a stake through the heart for being such a jerk. Perhaps, one day, he’ll get what he deserves.

Shells by N.J. Nidiffer
On AO3: Shells
Genre: G
Word Count: 3,557
Verse: Gina Lee (#19)
Summary: While cleaning the house, GIna finds a conch shell that Willie had given Polly on the last Fourth of July they shared together.
A/N: Nik and I had this idea about creating a story for every major holiday, so that Willie and Gina could share them. Naturally, in spite of the typically upbeat tone of the 4th, this particular holiday is laced with memories.Since I have only a single, undated printed copy of the story, I am unsure of the date Nik wrote it. But given the text, I believe this story takes place at some point after Home Among the Dead but before Stone.

Stone by N.J. Nidiffer
On AO3: Stone
Genre: G
Word Count: 29,413
Verse: Gina Lee (#20)
Summary: After Willie's return from San Diego, his life in Collinsport returns to normal. At least, as normal as it can get, seeing as how Willie misses Gina Lee and the kids even more now, and turns to hard work and hard drink in an attempt to erase the pain. Barnabas finds out, of course, and has his own solution to offer.

Water by Sylvia Bond
On AO3: Water
Genre: G
Word Count: 7632
Verse: Gina Lee (#21)
Summary: Willie begins to remember what he has tried so hard to forget: his friendship with Gina Lee.

The Gift of the Master by Sylvia Bond
On AO3: Gift of the Master
Genre/Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 10,800
Fandom: Dark Shadows
Verse: Gina Lee (# 222)
Summary: It’s Christmas time. Again. Done Collinwood style, with too much work for Willie, and not enough heat in that damn Old House.
A/N: This was a fun story on account of Barn being a little nicer than usual. Plus it was fun to work with what would be in those wrapped packages under the tree. Of course, the story is still dark, I haven’t gotten all soft, even if it is the holidays.

Starsky and Hutch

Velveteen and Corduroy Verse

Velveteen Hutch is located at Flamingo’s Starsky and Hutch Archive.
On AO3: Velveteen Hutch
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch
Rating: R (slash)
Word Count: 12, 832
Summary: A one-shot, stream of consciousness story that details Hutch’s memories about how he fell in love with Starsky. The schmoopy title belies the darker edge to this story, because although it has a happy ending, Hutch, though well-beloved by me, is a messed up guy and tends to make things more difficult than they need to be. This is a companion piece to Corduroy Starsky.

Corduroy Starsky
On AO3: Corduroy Starsky
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch
Rating: R (slash)
Word Count: 19, 822
Summary: Starsky tells his own story of how he and Hutch fell in love. This is a companion piece to Velveteen Hutch.
Author's Notes: For a long time I wanted to write a companion piece to Velveteen Hutch. I loved the idea of having both of them made of soft material, and yes, I based the titles on the children's books. Velveteen Hutch was, so they tell me, well-received, and the original publisher of that fanfic, Linda Cabrillo, wanted a companion piece even before the ink was dry on the first piece. That was some 15 years ago, and since then, I’ve had it in the back of my head that I would oblige her.

Not In A Verse

Frog and Toad Are Friends
On AO3: Frog and Toad Are Friends
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch
Rating: R (slash)
Word Count:  4662
Summary: After a lengthy stay inside the Cabrillo State Mental Institution, Starsky has a great deal of trouble coping with the memories and the bad dreams following his harsh treatment there. He tries to hide it from Hutch, but, of course, Hutch is too smart and finds out anyway. Care and maintenance ensues, Hutch style.
Author's Notes: This one was fun to write because I sometimes think that Starsky's nonchalance hides a more troubled soul than he would like to let on. I love comfort stories, where the hurt is long in the past, and I love it when the boys take care of each other.Sky Blue and Black is located on Flamingo’s Starsky and Hutch Archive.

On AO3: Sky Blue and Black
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch
Rating: R (slash)
Word Count: 31,955
Author’s Notes: This is a rather dark, longer story that came out of my desire to put the boys through hell. One day, I heard Jackson Browne’s song (from whence came the title for the story) on the radio. I floated home while listening the lyrics, which seemed to be a combination of love and hate, hope and despair, and the mixed-up emotions that two people in love might very easily share. The title, as well, seemed provocative, as blue and black are the color of bruises.

So I wrote the story, see. I put Hutch through hell and made Starsky watch. Then I made Hutch watch while Starsky went through hell.  Then I made Hutch leave so Starsky could suffer some more trying to find him. Then I let them be together in the same room, but they had to reveal the most painful of secrets. Then I made them re-live the events of the original torture…and in the end, it was a pretty dark story.

Hour of Separation is located on Flamingo’s Starsky and Hutch Archive.
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch
Rating: R (slash)
Word Count: 28,752
Author’s Notes: This is a slash story about two men who love each other, and who, as David Soul once said, “just happened to be cops.” It’s pure romance from start to finish. The title comes from a line from a collection of poems by Haklil Gibran called “The Prophet.” The line is as follows: “And ever has it been that loves knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.” From there follows many, many pages of angst, grumpiness, insomnia all set against the stage of a lovely, hot L.A. summer. Part of the fun is that the boys don’t understand just how close they’ve become over the years, and what exactly it is that they like about each other. Of course, there’s a happy ending, with no torture, at least not the regular kind, heh-heh-heh. The story was a joy to write, and I really got into the whole L.A. atmosphere, and the heat, and just how mean the boys could be to each other, even when they were trying like anything to get along.

Hour of Separation
On AO3: Hour of Separation
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch
Rating: R (slash)
Word Count: 27,676
Summary: The title (and concept of the story) comes from a line from a collection of poems by Haklil Gibran called “The Prophet.” The line is as follows: “And ever has it been that loves knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.” I had long thought that this idea deserved a story. Because it’s true, you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone; it’s hard to see what you have until someone takes it away from you. From there follows many, many pages of angst, grumpiness, insomnia all set against the stage of a lovely, hot L.A. summer.

Star Trek

One Night’s Compromise is now available on the Kirk/Spock Fanfiction Archive.
On AO3: One Night's Compromise
Pairing: Kirk/Spock
Rating: R (slash)
Word Count: 12,405
Summary:  Spock has determined that the only way he can save his and Kirk’s friendship is to ask for a transfer. This he does, and of course, Kirk objects, and decides that he and Spock should go out to dinner to discuss what it’s going to take to keep Spock on the Enterprise. What it eventually takes is a surprise to them both.

The Flavor of Gold is located at the Kirk/Spock Fanfiction Archive.
On AO3: The Flavor of Gold
Pairing: Kirk/Spock
Rating: R (slash)
Word Count: 30,491
Summary: While on shore leave, Kirk runs into Finnegan, who tells Kirk that he would not have been as successful without Spock. Kirk takes on a one-man mission in order to prove Finnegan wrong. (Kirk so has issues with this!) Meanwhile, Spock, wondering where his 3D chess partner has gone, goes after Kirk. He finds him, of course, and then the fun ensues!

Hunt for the Red October

Blue May - On AO3: Blue May
Pairing: Jack/Ramius
Rating: R (slash)
Word Count:: 8,678
Summary: Six months after the events in Red October, Jack takes vacation (on his boss's orders) and goes fishing. He runs into Capt. Ramius, who is working, natch, at the shop where Jack gets his supplies. The two decide to go fishing together, as they had once discussed, and find the opportunity to talk about what they did with that sub, and what it meant. In addition, they find the opportunity to discover a closeness that they had not heretofore anticipated.
Author's Notes: This is one of the first slash stories I wrote, way back when, so we're kicking it old school here.
